Recently, the restoration project of the Abalak Tamaya section of the Niger highway, which was aided by China, started in the province of Abalak. President Bazum of Niger, Chinese Ambassador to Niger Jiang Feng, Minister of Nigerian Equipment Mocta and others attended the commencement ceremony.
Project Overview
The Reconstruction Project of Abalak Tamaya Section of Niger Assistance is located in Abalak Department in the south central part of Niger, and is undertaken by CCECC. The reconstruction project of Abalak Tamaya section of Niger assistance includes the restoration of subgrade, pavement, drainage, protection, culverts and facilities along the line, with a total length of 70.92 km and a total construction period of 30 months.

Bazum delivered a speech at the commencement ceremony, stating that the project will open up the north-south transportation arteries of Niger, facilitate the smooth flow of resource elements, and drive the rapid development of Niger's economy. The Nepalese side sincerely appreciates the selfless assistance provided by the Chinese side for a long time, and is willing to work with the Chinese side to continuously promote the friendly cooperation relationship between the two countries.
Mokta said that the project is a witness to the friendly cooperation between Nepal and China, and will enhance Niger's road traffic capacity in the Sahara region.

Jiang Feng said that China has been actively implementing the the Belt and Road Initiative. The assistance project for the restoration of the Abalak Tamaya highway in Niger will help Nigeria realize infrastructure connectivity at an early date and promote its economic and social development.
