According to the "Announcement", the route of the Huangmaohai Cross-sea Corridor Project starts at Pingsha Community, Gaolan Port District, Zhuhai City, and then connects to the Gaolan Port, the terminal of the construction of the Hegang Expressway, and crosses the Guangzhou-Zhuhai Railway and Sanhu Avenue to the west. The length of the Huangmaohai cross-sea channel is 31.22km. It is constructed using the standard six-lane expressway, with a design speed of 100km / h and a subgrade width of 34m. The main control points include the Hegang Expressway, Gaolan Port Expressway, Guangzhou-Zhuhai Railway, Yamen East East Fairway, East Fairway and West Fairway, Zhutongtan Reservoir Water Source Protection Zone, Xintai Expressway. In addition, according to the feasibility study report of the project, the average daily traffic volume of the Huangmaohai Cross-sea Channel will reach an average of 16,745, 25,518 and 37,918 in 2025, 2031 and 2039.

According to the "Announcement", the Huangmaohai Cross-sea Channel has a total of 21904.4m / 15 bridges, 177m / 2 bridges, and a total length of 22081.4m. There are 15 culverts (including channels), and the bridges and tunnels occupy the entire line The total length is 79.1%.

The bridge aspect mainly includes the bridge part in the sea-crossing bridge and the land connection project. The sea-crossing bridges include Gaolan Port Bridge, Huangmaohai Bridge, East Approach Bridge, Middle Approach Bridge, West Approach Bridge and Shoal Approach Bridge, with a total of 14576m / 6 bridges. The bridges in the land connection project include bridges that connect the main line across surface water bodies, roads, and railways, and inter-connected bridges.

Among them, the Huangmaohai Bridge plans to use 100 + 280 + 2 × 720 + 280 + 100m steel box girder cable-stayed bridge, and the Gaolangang Bridge plans to use 110 + 248 + 700 + 248 + 110m steel box girder cable-stayed bridge. The main beams of the two bridges are made of separate steel box beams, which are composed of two steel box beams and horizontal connection boxes. The diagonal cable adopts parallel steel wire cable, and the tower adopts the concrete single-column tower. The bearing platform is round, and the transition pier and auxiliary pier are full-width T-shaped pier.

In terms of tunnels, there are a total of 2612.5m / 2 tunnels in the main line, of which Xiangshan Tunnel is 1690m and Shishan Tunnel is 922.5m, all of which are separate tunnels; there are 4 interchanges for the interchange of interchanges, namely Gaolan Port Interchange and Chixi East Interchange, Chixi West Interchange and Neutral Interchange.

In addition, the Huangmaohai Cross-sea Channel has one service area on the side of Mount Jiangmen, which is the service area of the Huangmaohai. A comprehensive management center (monitoring, communication, toll center) will be set up at the exit of the Hegang Expressway-Shuinan interchange to centrally manage the entire line. A maintenance work area, a rescue center, and a concentrated residential area are set at the same site. At the same time, a total of three toll stations will be built, including Chixi East, Chixi West, and Hegang Phase II agent construction of Gaolan Port toll stations.

The planned duration of this project is 55 months. The construction difficulty and the amount of construction are very large, and the influence is large. It can drive the development of related industries around. After completion, it will optimize the regional expressway network, change the single status of the river crossing, effectively promote the accumulation of Zhuxi equipment manufacturing base, and further strengthen the joint development of the Hengqin Free Trade Zone, Gaolan Port and the Daguang Bay Economic Zone .
