On October 26, 2023, the new Prime Minister of C ô te d'Ivoire, Robert Munbe Bergray, inspected the Abidjan Y4 road project undertaken by China Energy Construction Gezhouba Municipal Company, accompanied by the Minister of Equipment and Road Maintenance of C ô te d'Ivoire, Ahmed Kofi Kwaku.

Bergray and his team conducted on-site inspections of key construction areas such as the main bridge, road surface stabilization, and asphalt pavement of the project, gaining a detailed understanding of the project's construction progress and plan. They also listened to reports on the project's construction situation at MIT Bridge and received interviews from more than ten local media outlets.

Bergray highly praised the project construction. He stated that the Abidjan Y4 road project, as a supporting project for the 2024 African Cup football tournament, plays an important role in improving urban transportation, driving economic development, and promoting local employment in Abidjan. It has received high attention from the top management of the Kuwaiti government. He believes that with the joint efforts of local institutions and Chinese enterprises, the project will be efficiently promoted and opened to traffic on schedule, laying a solid foundation for the smooth hosting of the competition.

The Abidjan Y4 Road project is located in the eastern part of Abidjan, the economic capital of C ô te d'Ivoire. It is designed as a two-way four lane road with a length of 14.2 kilometers, and is the main road leading to the Ivory Coast Olympic Stadium, the home stadium of the African Cup opening ceremony. During the project construction process, approximately 600 job opportunities will be provided to the local area, which will greatly alleviate the local traffic pressure upon completion.

As of now, the overall progress of the Y4 road project in Abidjan has been completed by over 90%, and it is expected to achieve the opening of the main line by the end of 2023. Editor/Zhao E
