On November 22, 2023, Shenzhen Energy announced that its controlling subsidiary, Shenneng Heyuan Energy Storage Comprehensive Development Co., Ltd., plans to carry out related work during the preparation period of the Guangdong Centian Pumped Storage Power Station project, with a planned investment amount not exceeding RMB 700 million.

Guangdong Centian Pumped Storage Power Station is a key implementation project in the "14th Five Year Plan" of the national "Medium and Long Term Development Plan for Pumped Storage Energy (2021-2035)". The power station hub project mainly consists of an upper reservoir, a lower reservoir, an underground water transmission and power generation system, etc. The installed capacity of the power station is 1200 megawatts, the normal water level of the upper reservoir is 590 meters, the dead water level is 564 meters, and the regulated storage capacity is 8.1 million cubic meters; The normal storage level of the underground water reservoir is 108 meters, the dead water level is 97 meters, the regulated storage capacity is 7.85 million cubic meters, and the rated head is 465 meters.

The land occupation and inundation area of the project involve Qingxi Village, Kengkou Village, Huangtian Town, Dongyuan County, Heyuan City, and Putian Village, Zengtian Town. The scope of land occupation and inundation area for engineering construction mainly includes: the construction area of the hub project, the area below the normal water level of 590 meters above the dam site of the upper reservoir of the power station, and the corresponding safety superelevation area below; The corresponding backwater inundation area below and above the normal water storage level of 108 meters above the dam site of the power station's reservoir.
