Recently, the busy diplomatic schedule of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has once again attracted much attention from the international community. At the sincere invitation of the President of Pakistan, President Lehi will depart on Monday (22nd) for a three-day official visit to Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan. This visit is not only a further consolidation of bilateral relations, but also an in-depth promotion of bilateral cooperation and common development.

During his stay in Islamabad, President Lehi will hold in-depth talks with Pakistan's senior leadership and discuss a wide range of areas, including regional security, economic cooperation, energy and agriculture. In the energy sector in particular, the two countries are expected to make breakthroughs. A terrorist attack in southeastern Iran in December and subsequent cross-border reprisals briefly strained relations between the two countries. However, through dialogue and diplomatic efforts, the two sides managed to overcome their differences and returned to the road of cooperation. This visit is undoubtedly an important step in repairing and deepening bilateral relations.

It is worth mentioning that President Leahy's visit comes at a time of strained relations between Iran and Israel. Recently, the escalating conflict between Iran and Israel has aroused widespread concern in the international community. However, President Lehi's visit to Pakistan not only demonstrates Iran's firm stance on regional issues, but also shows Iran's determination to promote bilateral relations and regional stability.

After his visit to Pakistan, President Lehi will depart for Sri Lanka to attend the official launch ceremony of Uma Otani Hydropower Station at the invitation of the President of Sri Lanka. The project, which is being built by Iranian contractors and includes two DAMS and a 120-megawatt power plant, is touted as one of the largest civil engineering projects in Sri Lanka. The project will not only provide a stable power supply for Sri Lanka, but also provide irrigation water for local farmland and promote agricultural development.

The construction of Uma Otani Hydropower Station not only demonstrates Iran's strong strength in infrastructure construction, but also reflects the deep friendship and close cooperation between Iran and Sri Lanka. Through this project, the two countries will achieve mutual benefit and win-win results in many fields, including energy, water conservancy and agriculture, and push bilateral relations to a new height.

For President Lehi, this visit to Sri Lanka is not only a further consolidation of relations between the two countries, but also an important opportunity to showcase Iran's active role in the international arena. Through in-depth cooperation with Sri Lanka, Iran will further expand its regional influence and play a positive role in promoting regional peace and stability. Editor/Xu Shengpeng
