On March 6, 2024, Three Gorges Group issued a bidding announcement for the EPC general contracting project of Three Gorges Energy's 180MW/720MWh energy storage power station in Hainan Prefecture, Qinghai Province.

This project is located in the southern part of the Ecological Solar Power Park in Hainan Prefecture, Qinghai Province, about 33km away from Gonghe County. The site presents a small northern slope terrain trend, with an altitude between 2989m and 3030m. The site is flat and open, and is a grassland or semi desert degraded grassland. The site is adjacent to Gongyu Expressway and G214 National Highway, with convenient external transportation conditions.

The proposed scale of this project is a 180MW/720MWh lithium iron phosphate electrochemical energy storage power station, with a total land area of approximately 21750 square meters within the energy storage station wall. It is planned to construct 36 sets of 5MW/20.06MWh energy storage units, which will be connected to the 35kV busbar side of the 330kV collection station planned to be built in the Gonghe Park through 6 35kV collection lines. The access system scheme shall be subject to the final review opinion of the access system.

Planned construction period: The project is scheduled to start on April 1, 2024, and will be fully connected to the grid before June 30, 2024. The specific start date will be subject to notification from the tenderer or supervisor.

After the completion of the project, it not only helps to improve the energy utilization efficiency of Qinghai Province and reduce the pollution caused by large-scale energy utilization, but also promotes the electronic, intelligent, and green development of the power system. Editor/Zhao E
