March 15, by the Inner Mongolia Three Gorges Mengneng Energy Co., Ltd. declared the Inner Mongolia Kubuqi Desert Ordos new energy base 200,000 kilowatts of solar thermal power generation project was approved by the Dalat Banner Energy Bureau for the record.

According to the Notice of Project record, the construction site of the project is located in Zhaojun Town and Engebe Town, Dalat Banner, Ordos, and the planned construction period is from July 2024 to June 2027.

Construction scale and contents: A new 200,000-kilowatt solar thermal power station project, including the installation of a 200,000-kilowatt steam turbine generator set, the construction of a 220 kilovolt booster station, mirror field heat collection system, salt melting heat storage system, air cooling island and supporting living facilities.

According to relevant reports, the central and northern Ordos new energy base in the Kubuqi Desert (referred to as the "Kubuqi Base project") was approved in August 2022, led by the Three Gorges Group and Inner Mongolia Energy Group. The total installed capacity of the project is 16 million kilowatts, including photovoltaic 8 million kilowatts and wind power 4 million kilowatts. A total of 4 million kilowatts of advanced and efficient coal-fired power generation capacity will be renovated and expanded, and about 4-6 million kilowatt-hours of multi-scale and multi-type energy storage will be configured. Through centralized and large-scale development of new energy sources, clean, low-carbon and efficient use of energy will be promoted.

The project is the first solar thermal power generation project in Shagehuang new energy base project, and the deployment of 200,000 kilowatts of solar thermal power generation can improve the project peak load capacity and green power supply, and promote the development of China's solar thermal power generation industry.
