On March 28, 2024, in the famous hundred mile wind area of Yizhou District, Hami City, Xinjiang, with the issuance of the last grid connection command, the circuit breaker was closed, and the first wind turbine of the largest single wind storage integration project in Xinjiang, China Shipbuilding Wind Power Hami Million Kilowatt Wind Storage Integration Project, successfully connected to the grid for power generation, sounded the strongest sound of the first season of key project construction!

This project is jointly developed by China Shipbuilding Corporation Wind Power and Hami State Investment Corporation. It is a benchmark project for China Shipbuilding Corporation and local state-owned enterprises to jointly promote high-quality development of the new energy industry, and also the first new energy project in Xinjiang to be connected across prefectures. The design of this grid connected line closely focuses on the actual construction of the 750 ring network of the Xinjiang power grid, adhering to nearby access and efficient use, breaking the boundaries of prefectures and cities, and completing the green power grid connection across Hami and Turpan. This not only revitalizes the resources of 750 substations throughout Xinjiang, but also provides a useful demonstration for innovative grid connection models.

Tailored development plans based on local resource endowments have become a golden signboard for China Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) wind power to integrate into green development in various regions. This project is a typical achievement of CSSC wind power in deepening the use of China Shipbuilding Corporation's wind power industry's full chain independent supporting advantages and promoting the customization of clean energy system solutions. The temperature difference between day and night in the thirteen room area of Hami is large, with strong winds blowing year-round. Strong winds above level 8 can last for more than 200 days a year, and extreme wind speeds can reach 50.28 meters per second. In response to this reality, China Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) integrated and utilized the advantageous resources of China Shipbuilding Corporation's wind power industry to install 150 CSSC sea mounted H176-6.7MW low-temperature wind turbines and 300000 kW/1.2 million kWh electrochemical energy storage devices produced by CSSC's wind sails for the project, and applied wind storage coordination control technology to achieve maximum consumption and utilization of wind resources. At the same time, the energy storage system can accept grid dispatching, participate in grid auxiliary services, improve the volatility of power grid connection, and comprehensively enhance power supply reliability.Editor/Zhao E
