On April 25, 2024, the Dachanghua 1&2a offshore wind power project developed by Woxu Energy was officially completed and put into operation, marking the birth of Taiwan's first offshore large-scale wind power project and injecting new vitality into the development of renewable energy in Taiwan.

Great Changhua 1&2a Offshore Wind Farm Construction process Since the summer of 2021, the project has opened the prelude to offshore construction. In November of the same year, the installation of the offshore substation was successfully completed, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent construction of the wind farm. By early April 2022, the first offshore wind turbine was successfully installed in place, marking important progress in the construction of the wind farm. In the same month, the wind farm achieved its first grid-connected generation, a milestone that injected strong momentum into the follow-up work. Finally, in February 2024, the installation of the last fan was completed, and the Grand Changhua 1&2a offshore wind Farm was fully completed, ushering in the official operation of the happy moment.

Due to supply chain bottlenecks, the developer of the Great Changhua 1&2a offshore wind power project, originally scheduled for completion in 2023, announced in November 2023 that the project would be delayed. After adjustments and efforts, the completion of the project was eventually pushed back to 2024.

The project is located off the coast of Changhua County, Taiwan Province, about 35 to 50 kilometers from the coastline, with an installed capacity of 900 megawatts. Its core facilities include two offshore substations and 111 Siemens Gamesa 8 MW offshore wind turbines.

The completion of the project will help reduce Taiwan's dependence on traditional energy sources and reduce environmental pollution caused by energy consumption. Through the use of wind energy as a clean energy, it can effectively reduce the use of fossil fuels, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and contribute to environmental protection in Taiwan Province.
