On March 29, 2024, a groundbreaking ceremony was held in Zhungeer Banner, Ordos, Inner Mongolia for the 1.2 million kilowatt wind power project phase II of the Kubuqi Desert Base Ordos New Energy Project and the 600000 kilowatt warm water wind power project.

The Kubuqi Desert Base Ordos New Energy Project 1.2 million kilowatt wind power project Phase II Warm Water 600000 kilowatt wind power project is organized and implemented by Northern Weijiamao Ordos New Energy Co., Ltd. with a total investment of 3.083 billion yuan. The project covers an area of approximately 286 acres and is located in Warm Water Township, Burtahai Sumu, and Shagedu Town. The altitude of the distribution area is 1400m-1550m.

The project plans to install 96 wind turbine units with a single unit capacity of 6.25MW, with a total installed capacity of 600MW, and build a new 220KV booster station. According to the actual situation, the wind turbine tower of this project adopts a 160 meter high mixed tower structure, which can effectively improve utilization hours. The collection line adopts a voltage level of 66KV, which can effectively reduce the number of collection lines and reduce the difficulty of construction and line maintenance. After the completion of the project, the expected annual power generation will be 1.6716 billion kilowatt hours, which can improve the local energy structure, increase the proportion of non fossil energy consumption, save 526200 tons of standard coal annually, reduce the emissions of various atmospheric pollutants, including a reduction of approximately 14.45 tons of carbon dioxide emissions, 176.27 tons of sulfur dioxide emissions, 265.28 tons of nitrogen oxides, and reduce a large amount of smoke and dust emissions, protecting the regional atmospheric environment quality.
