On March 29, the first batch of projects of the gasification Southern Xinjiang natural gas pipeline project started to start welding, marking the full construction of the 2,108-kilometer gasification Southern Xinjiang natural gas pipeline project, which is another major energy artery and people's livelihood project initiated by the Tarim oilfield in southern Xinjiang.

Tarim Oilfield continues to expand the gas supply network, improve the gas supply capacity, and accelerate the pace of "gasification of southern Xinjiang". Up to now, more than 4,700 kilometers of natural gas pipelines have been built, covering all major cities and towns in the five prefectures of southern Xinjiang, gradually increasing the annual gas supply to 6 billion cubic meters, and supplying more than 59 billion cubic meters of gas to southern Xinjiang, benefiting 42 counties and cities, 46 farming and animal husbandry farms, and more than 8 million people of all ethnic groups.

With the rapid economic and social development, the average annual growth rate of natural gas demand in southern Xinjiang has exceeded 8% in the past five years. However, the insufficient transportation capacity of the existing natural gas backbone network has become a bottleneck problem restricting the large-scale utilization of natural gas in southern Xinjiang. Tarim Oilfield firmly shoulds the political responsibility of ensuring the energy needs of the people of all ethnic groups downstream and helping the economic and social development of southern Xinjiang. In accordance with the overall deployment of the "one network" construction of natural gas pipelines in Southern and northern Xinjiang Autonomous Region and the overall plan of CNPC gasification of natural gas pipelines in Southern and Northern Xinjiang, the gasification of natural gas pipeline project in Southern Xinjiang will be started while increasing natural gas storage and production. After the completion of the project, not only will the existing natural gas pipeline network become more and more dense and the pipeline transmission capacity become larger and larger, but also will realize the end-to-end connection of the gas supply pipeline network around the Tarim Basin, and develop the previous "C-shaped" pipe network into "O-shaped" pipe network, providing a more powerful guarantee for the people's livelihood and the gas consumption of enterprises in southern Xinjiang. Become a ring tower "air dragon" to promote local economic development and improve people's livelihood.

The gasification southern Xinjiang natural gas pipeline project is planned to have a total length of 2,108 kilometers and is planned to be implemented in three batches. At present, the first batch of projects under construction has a total length of 616 kilometers and is promoted by two roads, east and west. The west line of the pipeline starts from the No. 2 valve room of the Kelun Double Line in Kuqa City, and goes through Xinhe, Wenshu, Alar, Aksu, Keping and other counties and cities to Bachu County. The east line of the pipeline starts from the first station of west-east gas transmission located in Lunnan Town, and passes through Luntai county and other counties to Korla City Shangku Industrial Park.
