On March 30, 2024, Xinhe County and China Three Gorges Group Co., LTD. Hainan Branch, Beijing Kerui Power Distribution Automation Co., LTD., Xinjiang Rongyi Energy Company held a signing ceremony for the photovoltaic hydrogen production, hydrogen production ammonia integration project, marking Xinhe County has taken a solid step in the field of new energy development and construction.

The total investment of the project is 3.1 billion yuan, which will be built in two phases, and 800MW PV will be built, which can achieve a hydrogen production capacity of 20,000 tons and a hydrogen production capacity of 140,000 tons of synthetic ammonia. It is expected to be put into operation in the first half of 2025. The project is the first in Xinjiang to rely on high-quality solar and thermal resource endowment, adopt green hydrogen consumption of green electricity, green ammonia consumption of green hydrogen integrated solution, polymerization photovoltaic power generation, energy storage, hydrogen energy, green ammonia and other forms of clean energy, forming a whole electric-hydrogen-ammonia industry chain. After the project is put into operation, it can achieve an annual output value of 335 million yuan, tax revenue of 55 million yuan, and promote more than 200 people's employment, which has good economic, social and ecological benefits for promoting the high-quality development of clean energy in Xinhe County.
