On the morning of April 9, 2024, Shifang City, Sichuan Province ushered in an important moment. The Mamu River Friendship Bridge Flood Control Project officially started construction. The launch of this project not only marks a new breakthrough in the field of flood control construction in Shifang City, but also a symbol that all five of its water conservancy projects that have been approved in 2023 for the issuance of additional treasury bonds have entered the construction stage.

It is understood that these five water conservancy projects are all positioned as key flood control projects, with a total investment of 71.18 million yuan, and have received strong support from the country’s additional treasury bond funds. Among them, the flood control project in the section from Jinhe Phosphate Mine to Luoshui Town of Shitingjiang City in Shifang City is expected to invest 30.21 million yuan, of which 18.10 million yuan will be provided as a subsidy for the additional issuance of treasury bonds. The project will target the Jinhe Phosphate Mine Section, Yinghua Town Section, and Luoshui Town Section on the right bank of the Shiting River to carry out comprehensive management of the 4.6-kilometer-long river course, aiming to improve the flood control capacity of the river and ensure the safety of residents along the river. Safety of life and property.

At the same time, the flood control and control project on the left bank of the Duck River in Shifang City is also an important project, with an estimated investment of 43.01 million yuan, of which 25.80 million yuan will be provided as a subsidy from the additional issuance of treasury bonds. The project will focus on the 7.7-kilometer-long comprehensive management of the river from Cimushan Gate to Qingzhuyan and from Qingzhuyan to Boluoyan on the left bank of Yahe River. The implementation of these projects will greatly improve the river environment, enhance flood control capabilities, and create a safe and livable living environment for local residents.

It is worth mentioning that these five projects all have strict construction schedules and acceptance standards. They plan to complete the completion acceptance before November 20 to ensure that the project quality meets the design requirements. Subsequently, the construction settlement audit will be completed before December 20 to ensure that the use of funds is transparent and compliant.

The implementation of these projects will not only further improve Shifang City’s river basin flood control engineering system and make up for its shortcomings, but will also significantly enhance the city’s flood disaster response capabilities.
