On April 11, 2024, Xinjiang Mi City held a major industry investment signing conference for new quality productivity, and 14 projects were signed on site. Among them, the whole industry chain of hydrogen Hami and hydrogen transportation scene, 7 contracted projects with a total amount of 1.7 billion yuan, these projects will land in Yiwu County to help Yiwu build a hydrogen city.

The seven projects focus on the construction of the whole industrial chain in the field of hydrogen transportation, which are: Hydrogen high-speed and hydrogen corridor transportation scenario whole industry chain construction project, hydrogen energy transport capacity guarantee and logistics transportation investment project, hydrogen energy equipment manufacturing hydrogen fuel cell system and stack investment project, hydrogen energy equipment manufacturing fuel cell vehicle supporting industry investment project, hydrogen energy hydrogenation infrastructure investment project, hydrogen energy fuel cell system supply project, hydrogen fuel cell heavy truck supply project. Investors include Xinjiang Jiangna Energy Technology Group, Guanghui Energy Co., LTD., Beijing Xuanli Investment Co., LTD., Shanghai Kunhua New Energy Technology Co., LTD., Shaanxi Auto Group Proton Automobile Technology Co., Ltd. and other leading enterprises in the field of hydrogen energy industry and hydrogen energy transportation.

Yiwu County is rich in scenic new energy resources, the coal and coal chemical industry is huge, the by-product hydrogen production is high, and the development conditions for the integration of electric power, coal chemical industry and hydrogen energy industry are very superior, providing strong resources and application scenarios for the vigorous development of hydrogen energy industry. Since 2023, Yiwu County has actively promoted the development of green hydrogen production and industrial by-product hydrogen purification industry, accelerated the promotion and demonstration of hydrogen energy heavy trucks and the construction of hydrogen production, storage and transportation, hydrogen fueling stations and other projects, and achieved significant initial results. On March 31, 2024, a hydrogen refueling station in the Yiwu Industrial Park was successfully completed and put into operation, which can supply 1 ton of hydrogen per day, enough to meet the hydrogen demand of 35 hydrogen heavy trucks.

Zhang Kewen, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Yigu County and executive deputy county head, stressed that the hydrogen industry, as an emerging and future industry focused on cultivating in Yigu County, has huge development potential. The whole industry chain project of hydrogen transportation scene signed and successfully landed this time has injected new impetus to the rapid development of hydrogen energy industry in Yiwu County.
