On April 16, 2024, the city's water conservancy and agricultural national debt projects held a centralized commencement ceremony at the site of the second-phase Pingfei Lake water replenishment project in Tieshan Irrigation District, Yueyang County. 97 projects started intensively, covering irrigation area construction and renovation, reservoir risk relief and reinforcement, and waterlogging capacity. Construction, main tributary management, high-standard farmland construction, etc., with a total investment of 6.3 billion yuan.

It is reported that the water conservancy and agricultural national debt projects started this time involve 12 counties and cities in our city, including 29 medium-sized reservoir gates and reinforcements, 13 key waterlogging area management, 3 small and medium-sized river management, and 127 small reservoirs. Risk reinforcement projects, 16 rainwater monitoring facility projects for small and medium-sized reservoirs, 10 high-standard farmland projects, and 14 irrigation area projects. After the project is implemented, the shortcomings of water conservancy facilities can be further supplemented, flood prevention and disaster reduction capabilities can be improved, and while ensuring the safety of rivers and lakes, the safety of irrigation water for the city's 2.32 million acres of cultivated land can be ensured, and the harvest can be guaranteed during droughts and floods, and high and stable yields can be achieved.

Since 2023, our city has attached great importance to the application and construction of national debt water conservancy and agricultural projects. The Municipal Development and Reform Commission has strengthened overall planning and coordination, the municipal water conservancy, agriculture and rural departments have taken the initiative, the municipal finance, capital regulation, production and environment, forestry and other departments have fully cooperated. All counties The urban area has gone all out to secure a total of 3.575 billion yuan in water conservancy and agricultural treasury bond project funds. Among them, the second phase of the Tieshan Irrigation District continuation and modernization project, with a total investment of 1.128 billion yuan, is the largest single investment project in our city.
