On April 17, 2024, the good news came that the Maoming Xinyi Guizi Wind Farm project, the first decentralized wind power project of Southern Grid Energy Company, has been officially approved. This milestone not only marks a major breakthrough in the development of the decentralized wind power business, but also indicates that Xinyi, a city rich in wind energy resources, is about to usher in a new landmark building.

The project is located in Guizi Town, Xinyi City, Guangdong Province, as a zero-carbon emission demonstration project of China Southern Power Grid Corporation and a contracted project of Guangdong Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Global Investment Promotion Conference. The first phase of the project plans to install 7 typhoon power units, with a total investment of more than 240 million yuan. Upon completion, the wind farm is expected to generate approximately 57.2 million KWH of electricity per year, thereby reducing standard coal consumption by approximately 20,652 tons, while significantly reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 49,886 tons. The implementation of this project not only highlights the positive actions of China Southern Power Grid in promoting the development of green energy, but also injects new impetus into the sustainable development of Guangdong Province and the whole Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

On February 3, 2023, Nanwang Energy Company and Xinyi Municipal People's Government officially signed a framework agreement on the comprehensive utilization of wind energy storage and clean energy of Maoming Xinyi Guizi Wind Farm project. Under the active coordination and promotion of the Guangdong Provincial Energy Bureau, the local government and relevant functional departments, the project has been successfully approved after 14 months of efforts, and substantial and important progress has been made. This milestone marks a new stage of cooperation between the two sides, laying a solid foundation for future clean energy development.Editor/Zhang Liyuan
