Recently, the high-profile Yuhuan No. 2 offshore wind power project offshore booster station successfully ignited in Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industry's Zhenhua Reload base, marking that this major green energy project officially entered the substantive construction stage.
Yuhuan 2 Offshore Wind Power project is located in the beautiful Yuhuan County sea area of Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province. The project is large-scale and plans to install a series of high-efficiency wind turbines, including 19 low-frequency wind turbines with a capacity of 16 MW, 6 power frequency wind turbines with a capacity of 16 MW and 6 power frequency wind turbines with a capacity of 18 MW. The combined power of these advanced wind turbines will bring the total installed capacity of the project to a staggering 508 MW, so the project is also listed as one of the key construction projects in Zhejiang Province in 2024.
As a key part of the project, Zhenhua Reassembly will undertake the construction tasks of the upper block and lower foundation of the offshore booster station, and be responsible for the core work such as loading and lashing and sea-land coordination. These efforts will ensure the safe and stable operation of the booster station in the vast sea area, providing reliable power transmission and deployment services for the wind farm.
The completion and operation of Yuhuan No. 2 offshore wind power project is expected to generate 1.7 billion KWH of electricity annually, which will bring huge economic benefits to Zhejiang. At the same time, the project can save 512,000 tons of standard coal per year, reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 1.439 million tons, and effectively reduce environmental problems such as wastewater discharge and temperature drainage, making positive contributions to local environmental protection.
More importantly, Yuhuan 2 offshore wind power project will become a leader in a series of green energy demonstration projects. It will help optimize the regional energy structure, increase the proportion of green electricity in Zhejiang, and promote energy transformation and sustainable development.
