Recently, Guoneng (Tianjin) Port Co., Ltd. completed the site selection for the second phase of its terminal project. The project, with an investment of 5.797 billion yuan, is expected to start construction in the second half of this year and be put into production three years later.

Guoneng (Tianjin) Port Co., Ltd. is located in the Nanjiang Port Area of Tianjin Port. It is affiliated to the National Energy Group and is mainly responsible for the transportation of coal from the north to the south. It is an important port for the transportation of coal in the northwest region to Shanghai, Jiangsu, Fujian and other places. The previous phase of the project was already operating at full capacity. In order to ensure the country's energy supply, the company invested another 5.797 billion yuan to build the second phase of the project in the Nanjiang Port Area. In the past two days, the site selection has been completed, right next to the first phase of the project, and the transportation capacity can be doubled.

Guoneng (Tianjin) Port Co., Ltd. is a professional coal terminal enterprise controlled by China Shenhua Energy Co., Ltd. and jointly invested and constructed by Tianjin Port Co., Ltd. China Shenhua holds 55% of the shares and Tianjin Port holds 45%. It was officially put into production and operation in 2007.

On December 7, 2022, China Energy Group deepened the pilot reform of state-owned capital investment companies, further promoted professional integration, and integrated the three energy transportation ports of its subsidiaries National Energy Huanghua Port, Tianjin Port, and Zhuhai Port to establish China Energy Group Port Development Co., Ltd. company.

At the end of 2024, Tianjin signed a cooperation framework agreement with the National Energy Group to deepen cooperation on strengthening energy supply guarantees. The second phase of the National Energy Tianjin Port Terminal Project is one of them. To ensure that key projects start early and are constructed quickly, the Binhai New Area Government Affairs Office helps the project speed up preparations. According to the agreement, the second phase of National Energy (Tianjin) Port will build three new 70,000-ton coal loading berths and one 200,000-ton iron ore unloading berth. Construction is planned to start by the end of the year, but the project involves sea area construction and is relatively complex. Only after obtaining approval for sea and land use can enterprises carry out subsequent preparatory work such as survey and design bidding. The Binhai New Area Government Services Office provides front-line services and ensures that the preliminary work of the project can be carried out in advance through the method of "certificate by letter". At the same time, the New District Government Affairs Office also formulated an approval roadmap for the second phase of National Energy, and proactively communicated with enterprises according to each approval time node to promote it in advance.

Guoneng (Tianjin) Port Co., Ltd. is the second self-owned coal outlet of China Energy Group. It is mainly responsible for the storage and loading and unloading services of China Energy Group’s own coal. It also operates ore loading and logistics business. The total investment in project construction is 3.083 billion yuan, which is divided into three major areas: the dumper room, the yard and the wharf. The designed unloading capacity is 45 million tons/year, the yard storage capacity is 1.44 million tons, the designed loading capacity is 35 million tons/year, and the ore backloading station has a designed loading capacity of 5 million tons/year. In 2023, National Energy (Tianjin) Port completed unloading 45.707 million tons of coal and loading 45.756 million tons of coal.Editor/Zhao E
