On April 5, 2024, the Zhangye pumped storage power Station project in Gansu Province ushered in an important moment, and the excavation construction of the main plant supervised by the Zhangye Supervision Department of Shanghai Branch was officially started in a loud popping sound. This milestone has laid a solid construction foundation for the plant to achieve the goal of commissioning the first unit in April 2028.

Zhangye Pumped-storage Power Station in Gansu Province, located at the left bank of Heihe Mountain Exit at the junction of Ganzhou District and Sunan County, is a key implementation project of the 14th Five-Year National Pumped-Storage Medium and Long-term Development Plan (2021-2035), a provincial key project of Gansu Province in 2022, and a key development project of the Three Gorges Group. The power station hub project consists of upper reservoir, lower reservoir, water transfer system, underground powerhouse and switch station. Among them, the upper reservoir is located at the top of Pandao Mountain, the reservoir basin is deeply dug, and the bank of the reservoir is filled; The lower reservoir is arranged on the Gobi beach on the left bank of the Heihe exit pass, and is formed by half-digging and half-filling. The water transmission and power generation system is located in the Pandao Mountain between the upper and lower reservoirs. The total installed capacity of the power station is 1400MW, and four reversible pump-turbine units with a capacity of 350 thousand kilowatts are planned to be installed. The design annual power generation is 1.637 billion kWh, the annual pumped electricity is 2.183 billion kWh, and the comprehensive efficiency is about 75%. The construction of the power station is progressing smoothly, and it is expected that the first unit will be put into production in 2028, and all units will be put into production in 2029.

Since the Zhangye Department of Supervision has been stationed, they have quickly completed the establishment of supervision institutions and the construction of relevant systems to ensure that the supervision work can be fully prepared and smoothly carried out. The Supervision Department closely focuses on the start of the construction of the main project, actively participates in and promotes the handover of the work surface, construction planning and various preparatory work. They organized and completed the review of the special construction plan, the handling of the commencement procedures, and conducted a comprehensive site inspection before the start of construction. During the construction process, the supervision department conducts side stops throughout the whole process to ensure that the construction quality and safety are effectively controlled.

The Supervision Department will continue to take the party building work as the guide, promote high-quality development, and deeply establish and practice the core concept of strict management culture.
