On May 8th local time, the construction of the Tunisian Keruwan 100 MW photovoltaic project, jointly contracted by China Energy Northwest Institute and Tianjin Electric Power Construction Co., Ltd., began.

The project is located in Kerouan, central Tunisia, covering an area of approximately 200 hectares. It is the first large-scale ground photovoltaic power station in Tunisia and currently the largest single photovoltaic power station under construction in Tunisia. After the project is completed, it can operate for 25 years and generate approximately 5.5 billion kilowatt hours of electricity, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 5 million tons.

As one of the important strategic projects for the development of new energy in Tunisia, the construction of this project will further improve the problem of electricity shortage for local residents, provide sufficient clean and renewable energy for local industrial and agricultural production and people's lives in Tunisia, assist in the adjustment of Tunisia's energy structure and industrial transformation and upgrading, and play a positive role in local economic and social development and ecological environment protection.Editor/XuNing
