Recently, Huaneng Binzhou New Energy's 850,000-kilowatt photovoltaic power generation project held a grand construction swearing-in meeting in Zhanhua, marking the official launch of this major new energy project. The project has a total investment of 3.489 billion yuan, a construction scale of 850,000 kilowatts, and is expected to occupy 1,039.8 hectares of tidal flats. It is the first three-dimensional sea photovoltaic project to receive approval after the promulgation of the national sea area three-dimensional rights confirmation policy.

This project has been included in the country's third batch of large-scale wind power and photovoltaic power generation base construction lists, and is the first and so far only sea-based photovoltaic project approved by the State Council in 2024. This status highlights its role in the national new energy strategic layout. importance and uniqueness.

It is reported that the project started construction in April this year and is expected to be fully connected to the grid and put into operation by the end of the year. After completion, the project will become one of the largest single new energy projects in Shandong Province. The average annual grid-connected electricity is expected to reach 1.269 billion kilowatt-hours, and the annual equivalent full-load utilization hours will be as high as 1,312 hours. This power will provide a stable supply of clean energy to Shandong Province and even surrounding areas, effectively alleviating energy shortages.

In addition to the huge economic benefits, the project will also produce significant environmental benefits. It is estimated that the project can save 385,800 tons of standard coal every year and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 917,700 tons. This will significantly reduce pollutant emissions and make a positive contribution to improving environmental quality and responding to climate change. At the same time, while providing clean power, the project also takes into account the development of industries such as marine aquaculture and seawater sun-salting to extract bromine, maximizing the comprehensive utilization of the sea area and further promoting the sustainable development of the local economy.
