The launching ceremony of a China-assisted rural e-commerce platform in Laos was held in Vientiane, capital of Laos, on Monday. At the launch ceremony, officials from the Lao Ministry of Industry and Trade introduced the implementation process and progress of the China-assisted rural e-commerce project in Laos. The project covers the construction of rural e-commerce platform, information and communication technology infrastructure upgrading, personnel training, rural e-commerce convenience service point construction and other aspects.

Lao Minister of Industry and Trade Malai Thong said in his speech that China's assistance will help Laos keep pace with The Times and promote the digital transformation of Laos. The implementation of the project will build a bridge of connectivity for domestic and foreign producers and consumers in Laos, promote the production of Lao goods, promote trade and investment between Laos and China, and create more jobs for the Lao people.

Wang Chang, Charge d 'affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Laos, said in his speech that the aid Laos rural e-commerce project is to use China's experience in e-commerce development to promote more Lao agricultural products, industry and handmade products exports to China, enhance the China-Laos trade smooth and digital connectivity of the "new channel", will effectively help the development of Laos, the people to get rich.

The China-Laos rural E-commerce Engineering and technical assistance program was officially signed in April 2022, and then entered the construction period. The successful launch of the aid Laos rural e-commerce platform marks the project's entry into the next important node - the operation and maintenance period, and rural e-commerce in Laos will also reach a new level.
