On May 21, 2024, the Three Gorges Construction Corporation held the first design liaison meeting of the unit of Gansu Zhangye pumped storage Power Station in Deyang, Sichuan Province. Li Bin, chairman and Party secretary of Three Gorges Construction, Li Zhiguo, deputy general manager and Party member, Hu Weiming, Chairman of Dongfang Electric and Party secretary Yan Zhiyong attended the meeting.

The meeting briefed the progress of the construction of Gansu Zhangye pumped storage power station and the implementation of related contracts, and the participants had in-depth exchanges on the design results of the unit at this stage and the acceptance of the pump turbine model.

The meeting pointed out that Gansu Zhangye pumped storage power station is the Three Gorges construction in the northwest region of the first project to start construction, the technical challenge is greater, all parties involved in the construction should attach great importance to the unit design and manufacturing work, anchor the first unit in April 2028 power generation goal, and strive to Zhangye pumped storage power station in Gansu province into a quality project and benchmarking project.

During the meeting, Li Bin and his delegation also visited the manufacturing site of Dongfang Electric. Li Bin expressed the hope that Dongfang Electric will give priority to the Gansu Zhangye pumping and storage project, lock upstream resources such as raw materials in advance, mobilize high-quality resources and backbone forces within the plant, and ensure that the unit design and manufacturing tasks are completed on schedule and with high quality.

Three Gorges Group hydropower and pumped storage division, Three Gorges construction related departments, Changdian new energy, Dongfang Electric, Northwest Hospital and other units representatives attended the meeting. Editor/Wang Tian
