On June 12, 2024, Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province, ushered in the first grand meeting of the Northeast Asia Green Ship Fuel Supply Chain Alliance. At the same time, the world's largest single low-temperature green ammonia storage and transportation project of Envision Energy Jinzhou Port also started. The event attracted representatives from more than 50 important departments, enterprises and scientific research institutions, including China Classification Society, Liaoning Provincial Department of Transportation, Liaoning Maritime Safety Administration, Jinzhou Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, and six coastal cities Transportation Bureau.

The low-temperature green ammonia storage and transportation project started this time is not only another major green energy industry chain project invested by Envision Energy in Liaoning this year, but also a key link in the construction of the Northeast Asia Green Ship Fuel Supply Chain. The project aims to provide strong support for the green energy supply chain by building a world-leading low-temperature green ammonia storage and transportation facility.

At present, the three provinces and one region in Northeast China have formed a mature path of "North Alcohol South Transportation" in logistics and transportation, among which Liaoning Port plays a vital role as a transit hub. In order to further promote the development of green energy, the three provinces and one region in Northeast China jointly built the Northeast Sea-Land Channel and promoted the establishment of the Multimodal Transport Development Alliance. At present, there are 36 member units in the alliance, and the enterprises actively cooperate with each other to jointly promote the construction of the green energy supply chain.

As the main force to promote the development of the port's new energy production and supply chain, the Liaoning Provincial Department of Transportation and China Classification Society are committed to the research and development and scenario application of new energy fuel-powered ship engines such as green methanol and green ammonia. The two parties also jointly studied and formulated my country's marine sustainable fuel standards and certification mechanisms to promote the standardization and industrialization of Dalian Northeast Asia Green Ship Fuel Refueling Center and green ship fuel technology. This series of measures will provide a more solid guarantee for the Northeast Sea-Land Channel to undertake the "North Alcohol South Transport" task.

The establishment of the Northeast Asia Green Ship Fuel Supply Chain Alliance and the start of the Envision Energy Jinzhou Port Low-Temperature Green Ammonia Storage and Transportation Project mark a solid step forward in the field of green energy in Northeast Asia, which is of great significance to promoting the development of global green energy.Editor/Cheng Ting
