On June 20, 2024, the Anhui Fuyang Wind, Solar and Storage Base Project ushered in a milestone achievement. The first onshore wind turbine equipped with a 66 kV dry-type transformer in China was successfully connected to the grid. This innovative technological breakthrough will open up a new path for the development of domestic onshore wind power collection systems and promote its leapfrog progress.

With the spirit of innovation and the courage to explore, the project construction management team carefully designed a 35 kV + 66 kV collection line mixed arrangement scheme. This scheme not only significantly reduces the active power loss of the line, but also maximizes the utilization of line resources, greatly improves the power output efficiency of the wind farm, and demonstrates the project team's outstanding capabilities and forward-looking thinking in the field of wind power collection systems.

The power of science and technology leads to new energy changes, and the pace of innovation is constantly moving towards the future. The successful grid connection of this wind turbine not only accumulates valuable practical experience for the promotion and application of the 66 kV voltage level system of China's onshore wind farms, but also provides us with a solid theoretical foundation and important reference for further exploration and innovation of various wind farm collection systems. This milestone achievement will undoubtedly promote the continued development of China's wind power industry and lead the industry towards a more efficient and environmentally friendly future.Editor/Zhang Liyuan
