On May 7, 2026, the construction of two offshore platforms for the Shenzhen Energy Shanwei Honghai Bay Six Sea Wind Power Project officially started. The project has a planned installed capacity of 500 megawatts and will install 36 14 megawatt large capacity offshore wind turbines. The site center is 33 kilometers away from the coast and is a key offshore wind power project in eastern Guangdong.

Simultaneous construction of two offshore platforms
This construction focuses on the upper modules of two platforms, the offshore booster station and the offshore compensation station. The upper platform of the booster station weighs about 3380 tons and is responsible for the core functions of power collection and boosting transmission; The upper platform of the compensation station weighs about 1680 tons and is used for reactive power compensation in the power grid to ensure transmission stability. Zhenhua Heavy Industries is fully responsible for the construction of the upper modules of the two platforms, relying on its experience in constructing heavy equipment at sea to ensure the structural strength and adaptability to harsh environments of the platforms.

Clear parameters for a 500 MW wind farm
The project is located in the offshore waters of Shanwei City, with a site area of approximately 62 square kilometers. It is planned to install 36 14 MW wind turbines with a total installed capacity of 500 MW. In July 2025, Shenzhen Energy announced the finalization of a 7.897 billion yuan investment plan, of which 1.581 billion yuan is self owned funds and the remaining funds will be raised through financing. In December of the same year, Zhenhua Heavy Industries and Shandong Yili Fengtai won the bid for the dual platform production and transportation procurement project. The plan for the use of the sea area was announced by the Shanwei Natural Resources Bureau in April 2026. Keywords: New energy information, offshore wind power

Assist the Guangdong East New Energy Industrial Belt
The Honghai Bay 6 project adopts a batch of 14 MW high-power wind turbines, paired with dual platforms of 500 kV high voltage level, to adapt to the development trend of large capacity and high voltage in China's offshore wind industry. After the completion of the project, it will continue to expand the scale of the offshore wind power industry in Shanwei, strengthen the layout of the new energy industry belt along the eastern coast of Guangdong, and assist in the transformation of Guangdong Province's energy structure. With the progress of platform construction, wind turbine hoisting, submarine cable laying and other processes, the project will gradually be put into operation and connected to the grid, injecting green energy into the sea for ensuring power supply and achieving dual carbon goals in South China.Editor/Gao Xue
