Recently, the construction project of safety monitoring facilities for medium and small reservoirs and dams in Liaoning Province was officially started at Niuqibao Reservoir in Faku County, Shenyang City and Maoshan Reservoir in Shenbei New District. This milestone event marks that 13 reservoir-type additional treasury bond projects in Liaoning Province have fully entered the construction stage.

The 13 reservoir-type additional treasury bond projects approved this time cover the risk removal and reinforcement projects of 11 large and medium-sized dangerous reservoirs and the construction projects of 2 reservoir dam safety monitoring facilities. The total investment of these projects is as high as 753 million yuan, and it is planned to complete the main construction of all projects by the end of this year.

The smooth implementation of these projects is of great significance to Liaoning Province. First of all, they will significantly enhance the flood control and safety guarantee capabilities of 11 reservoirs for 780,000 people and 1.37 million mu of farmland downstream, ensuring the safety of people's lives and property and the smooth progress of agricultural production. Secondly, by building reservoir dam safety monitoring facilities, Liaoning Province will basically achieve full coverage of small and medium-sized reservoir dam safety monitoring facilities in the province, which will greatly improve the informationization and modernization level of reservoir operation management. This will not only help to timely discover and deal with safety hazards in reservoir operation, but also provide strong support for scientific dispatching and efficient management of reservoirs through data analysis and prediction.

In addition, the construction of these projects will also promote the sustainable development of water conservancy in Liaoning Province, improve the overall efficiency of water conservancy infrastructure, and provide solid water conservancy guarantees for the economic and social development of Liaoning Province.
