The excavation scope covers an elevation of 715.0 meters to 776.0 meters, with an average depth of 61 meters, a maximum excavation width of 103.4 meters, and a longitudinal extension of 535 meters. The total excavation volume is expected to exceed 1.2207 million cubic meters. In 2022, the project area encountered a major mudslide disaster, and the upstream alluvial deposits caused the original riverbed elevation of the dam to rise from 715 meters to 776 meters, greatly increasing the complexity of construction. The project team has re planned a stepped excavation plan covering a vertical drop of 61 meters through geological survey and engineering design optimization, ensuring slope stability while balancing construction efficiency and safety standards.

The total installed capacity of the Dasu hydropower station in Pakistan is 5400MW, which will be implemented in two phases. The first phase will install 6 units, totaling 2160MW. After completion, the average annual power generation will be about 21300GWh. After the project is fully put into operation, it will optimize the structure of Pakistan's power grid and greatly alleviate the problem of power shortage in Pakistan.
