On July 1, 2024, with a clear whistle, a China-Europe train loaded with home appliances, clothing, building materials and other goods slowly drove out of Beijing Pinggu Local Railway Mafang Station and headed for Moscow. This marks the official start of the normal operation of the China-Europe train from Beijing to Europe.
This China-Europe train is named Beijing-Pinggu Comprehensive Logistics Hub China-Europe Express, Beijing-Moscow, and its first train was dispatched in March 2023. On the basis of the trial operation, Pinggu District worked closely with Beijing Customs, China Railway Beijing Bureau Group Co., Ltd. and other units to jointly study the operation plan and actively prepare the source of goods. From July 1, 2024, the China-Europe train will achieve normal operation with a frequency of at least one train per month.
The normal operation of the China-Europe train has opened up a new international logistics channel across the Eurasian continent for Beijing's foreign trade, which will help the capital achieve a higher level of opening up to the outside world and contribute to the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative. Tang Zhaohui, member of the Standing Committee of the Pinggu District Committee of Beijing and deputy district mayor, said so.
Pinggu District is located in the northeast of Beijing and has been given the important functional positioning of a comprehensive logistics port serving the capital. In recent years, the district has made every effort to promote the planning and construction of the Beijing-Pinggu Comprehensive Logistics Hub, attracting the accelerated gathering of many leading domestic and foreign logistics companies. At the same time, bulk commodities are also gathering here at an accelerated pace, showing a booming development trend.Editor/Zhang Liyuan
