At 17:00 on April 21, 2026, the interphone suddenly sounded in the control room of Khorgos Railway Port in Xinjiang. A China Europe freight train loaded with new energy vehicle parts and smart home appliances slowly started, heading towards Duisburg, Germany. When the containers at the rear of the train disappeared into the twilight, the annual passing train count quietly skipped the threshold of 3000 trains on the electronic screen of the safety production command center.

Within the year, the number of trains passing through exceeded 3000

As of April 21, Khorgos Railway Port has passed more than 3000 China Europe Central Asia trains in 2026, with a cumulative traffic of more than 55000 trains in history. At present, the daily average number of trains passing through the port is stable at over 27, with 91 routes covering 46 cities and regions in 18 countries, carrying more than 200 types of goods. In 2025, the cargo throughput at the dual ports will be 32.1 million tons, with 18000 guaranteed trains, a year-on-year increase of 7.4%.

Open top box is used for bulk ore replacement

In response to the increase in imported bulk ore transportation volume such as pellet ore and iron concentrate powder, the station has innovatively implemented a standardized operation mode for the entire process of surplus unloading and container loading. The difference in open top truck models between China and Kazakhstan has resulted in the replacement of surplus goods, which are no longer stacked on the ground but directly loaded into open top boxes. The standards for each link of loading, unloading, packing, and hanging are synchronized and clear, and the daily loading operation is maintained at two or more columns, significantly improving the efficiency of cargo space turnover. Smart ports compress clearance time

The 95306 digital port system has been fully promoted, with pre verification of translated tickets and synchronous compression of ticket production, communication, and replacement time. Customs implements smart railway port and local fast customs clearance, intelligent declaration of documents, and sharing of customs and railway information. The number of trains operating on the West Passage in the first quarter increased by 19% year-on-year, and the shortest clearance time at the port was reduced to less than 30 minutes.
