On July 5, 2024, the country's first centralized offshore photovoltaic project, CGN Zhaoyuan Offshore Photovoltaic Project, was officially connected to the grid in Yantai.

The project is located in Laizhou Bay, Shandong Province, with a total sea area of about 6.44 square kilometers, a planned capacity of 400,000 kilowatts, and the first batch of grid-connected 12,000 kilowatts, which is the first large-scale offshore pile foundation fixed offshore photovoltaic project in China. It is expected that the annual average power generation will be 690 million KWH after the operation, which can meet the electricity demand of about 400,000 households for a year, reduce the standard coal consumption of about 207,000 tons per year, and reduce the carbon dioxide emission of about 532,000 tons.

Shandong Province has made milestone achievements in the field of wind power generation, and its highest power generation output took the lead in the provincial grid to cross the 50 million kilowatts mark, reaching a brilliant 51.89 million kilowatts, demonstrating a strong clean energy production capacity. As of the end of June 2024, Shandong Province's installed photovoltaic capacity is more proud of the group, with 63.54 million kilowatts of outstanding results ranked first in the country, further consolidating its leading position in the field of new energy.Editor/Zhang Liyuan
