On July 7, 2024, the Qixing Reservoir Water Diversion Project in Guangfeng District, Jiangxi Province officially started construction.

The Qixing Reservoir Water Diversion Project is the core project in the construction of urban and rural water supply integration in Guangfeng District. After completion, the daily water supply capacity will be increased from the current 150,000 cubic meters to 300,000 cubic meters. Most townships will benefit from it, and the water quality of the water source will basically reach the first-class water standard throughout the year. The water quality has been comprehensively improved, and more than 700,000 people in the district can drink high-quality and reliable water, greatly improving the safety and guarantee capacity of water supply.

When the Qixing Reservoir Water Diversion Project started, District Party Secretary Gong Zhenzhou acted quickly, personally led a team to conduct in-depth research on the front line of the project, and then presided over a symposium, demonstrating the government's high attention to this livelihood project.

During the investigation, Gong Zhenzhou and his team went deep into the construction site of the entrances and exits of tunnels 2 to 4, witnessed the vivid scenes of the roar of machinery and the hard work of workers, and fully grasped the progress of the project through field visits, listening to detailed reports and exhibition board introductions. On-site office solved many practical problems and put forward targeted guidance opinions.

At the symposium, Chen Jinliang gave a comprehensive report on the project overview, progress and challenges faced by the Qixing Reservoir Water Diversion Project. The participants had a heated discussion on all aspects of the project promotion and put forward many constructive opinions and suggestions.

Secretary Gong Zhenzhou clearly pointed out in his speech that the Qixing Reservoir Water Diversion Project is not only a major livelihood project related to the drinking water safety of the people in the whole district, but also a long-term investment in the well-being of the people of Guangfeng. He emphasized that we must unify our thinking, improve our understanding, and take this people-oriented project as a top priority to ensure the efficient promotion of the project. At the same time, he asked the project command to strengthen responsibility, refine the work plan, speed up the construction progress, and ensure that the project is completed on time and with quality.

In addition, Gong Zhenzhou also emphasized that the elements must be in place, and all relevant departments need to work closely together to form a joint force to provide all-round support and services for project construction. He encouraged the construction unit to optimize the construction plan, speed up the progress of the project, and strive to create high-quality and fine projects under the premise of ensuring quality and safety.
