According to the Kyrgyz Ministry of Energy, a large refinery in Batken is about to be put into operation.
Recently, Minister of Energy Ibolayev inspected the construction of a 500 ton/day refinery in Kok Tara Village, Kadamzai District, Batken Oblast.
On March 23, 2023, in order to implement the joint development project of "ТундукСох" oil field and "Чонгарагагала" oil field, the state-owned enterprise "Kyrgyz Transportation Oil and Gas Company" and "Kyrgyz Türkiye Oil and Gas Company" signed an agreement on joint implementation activities.
Up to now, over 90% of the construction projects in the refinery have been completed, and the repair and preparation work for four oil wells is underway. It is tentatively scheduled to be completed and put into operation by the end of September 2024.
