On July 11, 2024, on the occasion of the grand opening of the 2024 Tianjin International Shipping Industry Expo and the launch of the China Maritime Day Main Forum and the National Maritime Day Activity Week, Fujian Port Group and Tianjin Port Group held a grand signing ceremony for the strategic cooperation framework agreement in Tianjin. This cooperation marks that the two ports have joined hands to enter a new stage of development, jointly committed to building a safe, efficient and convenient maritime trade channel, injecting strong impetus into the high-quality development of the southeast coastal economic circle and the Bohai Rim economic circle, and actively responding to the Belt and Road Initiative and contributing to the strength of Chinese ports.

Chen Lezhang, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and general manager of Fujian Port Group, and Jiao Guangjun, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and president of Tianjin Port Group, were present at the scene to witness this important moment together. Chen Zhaohui, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and general manager of Xiamen Port Group, and Luo Xunjie, vice president of Tianjin Port Group, as representatives of both parties, formally signed the strategic cooperation framework agreement, opening a new chapter in the in-depth cooperation between the two ports.

The signing of this strategic cooperation agreement is a concrete action for both parties to thoroughly implement the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on port development and actively respond to the country's strategic deployment on building world-class ports. The two parties will give full play to their respective advantages in port operations, route networks, and smart green port construction to carry out all-round, multi-field, and in-depth cooperation.

According to the agreement, Fujian Port Group and Tianjin Port Group will cooperate in many aspects such as the optimization and improvement of the two ports and one shipping route, the international promotion of the Silk Road Shipping brand, the technological innovation of smart green ports, the deep integration of supply chain business, and personnel exchanges and visits. The two parties will build a multi-level and normalized dialogue and communication mechanism, actively explore innovative cooperation models, and jointly create a benchmark for smart green ports to achieve mutual benefit, win-win results, and common development.

This cooperation will not only further expand the breadth and depth of the strategic cooperation between the two ports, but will also effectively promote the interaction of container routes between the two ports and enhance the international influence and competitiveness of the Silk Road Shipping brand.
