In July, Xinjiang Huoshaoyun lead-zinc mine accelerated the process of intelligence and infrastructure, strictly adhered to safety standards, achieved production targets 20 days ahead of schedule, and completed 60,000 tons of mining. The mine is located in Hotan County, 5,600 meters above sea level. It is the world's highest-altitude lead-zinc mine with a reserve of more than 21 million tons of metal and an annual mining volume of 2.5 million tons.

The on-site operations are busy, and excavators, drills and other equipment operate efficiently to strip rocks and transport them. The mining area has been connected to the main roads, and a total of 600,000 cubic meters of stripping and 60,000 tons of by-product ore have been completed. The company plans to achieve a total stripping volume of 1.5 million cubic meters, 250,000 tons of mining by August 2024, and complete a number of infrastructure construction.

In order to deepen resource exploration, Huoshaoyun lead-zinc mine cooperates with scientific research institutions such as the Chinese Academy of Sciences to study mineralization laws and ore-control factors, aiming to add 1 million tons of lead + zinc metal. The cooperation project aims to clarify the laws of the mineralization belt, compare typical ore deposits, summarize the signs of prospecting, and guide the direction of future prospecting.

At the same time, the mine actively promotes intelligent construction, cooperates with many companies, introduces advanced technologies such as unmanned mining trucks, and gradually realizes mechanized, intelligent, and unmanned production, reaching the domestic leading level. The mining area has also established an advanced safety and environmental protection system, adopts zero-altitude pressurized buildings, and is committed to creating a modern mine with resource conservation, ecological protection, scientific and technological innovation, and harmonious development.

The total investment of Xinjiang Huoshaoyun Lead-Zinc Mine Project is 26.17 billion yuan, including 12.221 billion yuan for mining engineering, 5.433 billion yuan for long-distance slurry transportation pipeline engineering, and 8.516 billion yuan for smelting engineering. As of May 2024, Xinjiang Huoshaoyun Lead-Zinc Mine has completed an investment of 8.246 billion yuan in mining engineering, built the Dahongliutan Command Camp, Tianshuihai Transit Camp, and Huoshaoyun Production Camp, completed the construction of ancillary facilities such as the mine laboratory, accelerated the promotion of mining projects, and laid out a large-scale lead-zinc metal extension processing industry chain base in the downstream.

After Xinjiang Huoshaoyun Lead-Zinc Mine reaches full production, it will produce 560,000 tons of zinc ingots and 110,000 tons of lead ingots annually, with an estimated annual revenue of 10.6 billion. It plans to develop downstream deep processing, and strive to achieve an annual output value of more than 50 billion yuan in the upstream and downstream within 3-5 years, an annual profit and tax of more than 10 billion yuan, and drive employment of more than 5,000 people. The goal is to develop the Hotan area into a lead and zinc capital within ten years, forming a green industrial cluster integrating mining, smelting, trade and logistics.Editor/Cheng Ting
