Bangladesh, a country located in South Asia, has long been constrained by soil conditions in its road construction, with poor road bearing capacity and insufficient stability becoming bottlenecks that restrict transportation development. At the same time, there is a shortage of raw materials available locally for road construction, which necessitates reliance on imports. This not only increases the cost of road construction, but also makes the entire project vulnerable to the impact of international market supply conditions. However, all of this is changing due to the participation of Chinese companies.

The Dhaka Ring Expressway project, as the first fully enclosed expressway in Bangladesh, has a total length of 48.11 kilometers and is expected to be completed and opened to traffic in 2025. The investors and contractors of this project are both from China, especially Sichuan Road and Bridge Construction Group Co., Ltd. They have brought a new solution to road construction in Bangladesh with their rich experience and advanced technology.

Faced with the special soil conditions and shortage of raw materials in Bangladesh, Sichuan Road and Bridge Construction Group Co., Ltd. has innovatively developed "semi-rigid pavement" and "reinforced retaining wall" technologies through repeated experiments and demonstrations. These two technologies not only solve the technical difficulties in local road construction, but also significantly reduce project costs, contributing to the sustainable development of Bangladesh.

The "semi-rigid pavement" technology improves the bearing capacity and stability of the pavement by optimizing the material ratio of the pavement structure. In the design process, the project team fully considered the soil conditions in Bangladesh, using river sand as the main raw material and adding an appropriate amount of cement for mixing, effectively improving the strength and durability of the road surface. This technology not only reduces dependence on imported raw materials, but also reduces environmental damage, achieving a win-win situation of economic and ecological benefits.

The "reinforced retaining wall" technology significantly enhances the bearing capacity and stability of the retaining wall by adding special reinforcement materials to it. The application of this technology not only solves the common problem of slope stability in road construction in Bangladesh, but also improves the overall safety and aesthetics of the road.

During the construction process of the Dhaka Ring Expressway project, Chinese technology has been highly recognized by the government and people of Bangladesh. In an interview, Nuri, Secretary of the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges of Bangladesh, said, "We are very grateful to Chinese companies for developing technologies that are suitable for us. We need such low-cost and environmentally friendly technologies." He emphasized that the introduction of Chinese technology not only reduces the cost of road construction, but also promotes local sustainable development. With the gradual progress of the Dhaka Ring Expressway project, the transportation situation in Bangladesh will be significantly improved. The completion and opening of this project will greatly shorten people's travel time, improve logistics transportation efficiency, and inject new vitality into the economic development of Bangladesh. Meanwhile, the successful practices of Chinese enterprises will also provide valuable experience and reference for other countries and regions.
