Recently, the Lao government and China General Nuclear Power Technology Co., Ltd. successfully signed a photovoltaic sector development agreement for the second phase of the wind and solar project of the Northern Laos Interconnection Clean Energy Base in Vientiane, marking a solid step forward between China and Laos in the field of new energy cooperation.

This agreement focuses on the three provinces of Oudomxay, Phongsaly and Luang Namtha in northern Laos, aiming to create a green and clean energy base through the integrated construction of wind, photovoltaic and water storage. Following the smooth progress of the first phase of the 1,000MW photovoltaic project in Oudomxay Province, the two parties will work together to promote the second phase of the 580MW photovoltaic project in Luang Namtha Province and the 420MW photovoltaic project in Oudomxay Province to further expand the scale of cooperation and deepen energy cooperation.

Thongpa Intavon, Deputy Minister of Energy and Minerals of Laos, said that the implementation of the project will not only promote the green and low-carbon transformation of Laos' energy and promote sustainable economic and social development, but will also significantly improve the power interconnection between northern Laos and southern China. level and bring tangible benefits to the people of the two countries.

With the further implementation of the project, China's advanced technology and superior production capacity in the field of new energy will effectively help Laos' energy structure optimization and industrial chain upgrading, laying a solid foundation for China and Laos to build a closer green energy partnership. The two parties have broad prospects for cooperation and will jointly write a new chapter of green development.Editor/Zhang Liyuan
