On August 16, 2024, the first wind turbine of the 2.5 million kilowatt wind power project in Mulei County, Changji Prefecture, Xinjiang was successfully hoisted. It only took 60 days from the start of the project to the hoisting of the first wind turbine, setting a new record for energy industry project construction.

At the site of the SPIC Mulei 300,000-kilowatt wind power project at the Laojunmiao South Wind Farm in Mulei County, staff are skillfully operating tower cranes. A large tower crane is hoisting wind turbines and assembling blades in the air at a height of 100 meters. The tower height of the wind turbine hoisted this time is 110m, the impeller diameter is 204m, the total weight of a single unit is 484.55 tons, the maximum sweep area exceeds 32,700 square meters, equivalent to the area of 4.5 standard football fields, and it can generate 93.3 degrees of electricity per minute. .

The 2.5 million kilowatt wind power project in Mulei County is jointly constructed by seven companies: State Power Investment Corporation, Xinjiang Energy, Changji State Investment Corporation, Xinjiang Huadian, China Coal Mulei, Xinjiang Shuangjie and Jinhong Electric Power, with a total investment of 8.2 billion yuan and an area of 762,000 acres, it is planned to build 372 wind turbines.

Tong Xinqiang, Party branch secretary and chairman of SPIC Mulei County New Energy Co., Ltd., said that the construction of this 300,000-kilowatt wind power project requires an estimated investment of 1.15 billion yuan. After the project is completed, the annual power generation will reach 700 million kilowatt hours, saving 219,800 tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 2,560 tons. The implementation of the project will effectively promote the green development of Mulei County.Editor/Zhang Liyuan
