Iran plans to build large-scale water conservancy facilities in Kazakhstan.
When meeting with Iranian Energy Minister Mehrabian, Kazakh Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Nurgitov said that the water level in Kazakhstan during the flood season is too high and new reservoirs are needed to effectively transport water and store backup water. Iran's domestic water conservancy projects are very successful and the results are obvious to all. We hope to have long-term and close cooperation with Iran. Mehrabian said that Iran hopes to build large-scale water conservancy projects similar to the Bakhtiari Hydropower Station in Central Asia, especially in Kazakhstan.
Iran also plans to share its advanced irrigation water delivery technology with Kazakhstan, which is particularly important for the key regions of Zhambyl, Kyzylorda and Turkestan in southern Kazakhstan. Iran believes that the introduction of this technology will effectively promote the improvement of agricultural irrigation efficiency in these areas, thereby promoting the economic development and prosperity of the entire region.Editor/Jiang Mingyue
