On August 15, 2024, China Water Resources and Hydropower Fourth Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd. was officially notified of winning the bid and successfully won the PC general contracting project of the Mulei 300,000-kilowatt wind power project under the State Power Investment Group. The project is located in Mulei Kazakh Autonomous County, Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, about 50 kilometers north of the county and located in a plateau area with an altitude of 790 to 830 meters.

The project has an ambitious plan and aims to install 54 advanced 5.6-megawatt wind turbines with a total installed capacity of up to 300,000 kilowatts. These units will efficiently transmit power to the jointly constructed State SDIC Laojunmiao 220 kV booster collection station through six carefully designed double-circuit 35 kV collector lines on the same tower to ensure stable transmission and collection of electric energy.
In addition, the project has also built an advanced electrochemical energy storage system with a scale of 30,000 kilowatts/60,000 kilowatts, and plans to expand it to 30 MW/60 MWh to meet the peak and frequency regulation of the power grid and new energy. consumption needs. The energy storage system will be connected to the 35 kV bus side of the newly built Jingshik 220 kV booster collection station through two 35 kV collector lines, further improving the flexibility and reliability of the power grid.
The traffic conditions at the project site are relatively convenient. The Z556 road passes through 8 kilometers east of the wind farm, which provides good logistics support for the construction and operation of the project. The Fourth Hydropower Bureau will rely on its rich experience and excellent technology in the fields of water conservancy, hydropower and new energy to fully promote the smooth implementation of the project and contribute to the development of clean energy in Xinjiang and even the country.Editor/Jiang Mingyue
