On August 28, 2024, Xinfeng County held a grand groundbreaking ceremony for the expansion project of Shaanxi Investment Xinfeng Energy's 2×1000MW unit, marking the official start of the construction of this major energy project. This project is a concrete embodiment of deepening cooperation and seeking common development between Jiangxi and Shaanxi.

Wu Zhongqiong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, came to the scene and announced the official start of the project, demonstrating the importance of the project and the great attention of leaders at all levels. Central China Energy Regulatory Bureau of the National Energy Administration, Shaanxi State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, Jiangxi Provincial Development and Reform Commission and Provincial Energy Bureau, Shaanxi Investment Group, State Grid Jiangxi Electric Power Company and other leaders and guests attended the event and witnessed this important moment.

Mayor Li Kejian emphasized in his speech that the expansion project of Shaanxi Investment Xinfeng Energy Unit carries the deep concern and strong support of national ministries and commissions and Shaanxi Province for the old area of southern Gannan, and is of immeasurable value for improving the power supply capacity of southern Gannan, optimizing the energy structure, and promoting high-quality economic and social development. He asked the relevant departments of Xinfeng County and the city to fully cooperate to provide a solid guarantee for the construction of the project; At the same time, it is hoped that all participating units will uphold high standards and strict requirements, build the project into a model project of safety, quality and integrity, and complete and put into operation as soon as possible to benefit the people in the old area.

At the event, the leaders and guests witnessed the pouring of the first tank of concrete in the main plant, marking the official entry of the project into the substantive construction stage. It is reported that the 2×1000MW unit expansion project of Shaanxi Investment Xinfeng Energy has a total investment of about 8 billion yuan, located in Datangbu Town, Xinfeng County, which is one of the key construction projects in Jiangxi Province, and is also the first coal-fired power project in China to introduce comprehensive smart energy such as photovoltaic and breeze power generation in the plant during the infrastructure construction period, and is also the first 1000MW coal-fired power project with biomass, garbage and sludge blending capacity in China.
