The highly flexible, clean and efficient 2 × 660 MW cogeneration project of Huaneng Dezhou Power Plant, as a major innovative project in the energy field, not only marks a solid step forward for Huaneng Group in promoting energy structure optimization and transformation upgrading, but also demonstrates China's firm determination to improve energy utilization efficiency and promote green and low-carbon development.

The project adopts internationally advanced ultra supercritical power generation technology, with a capacity of up to 660 megawatts per unit, achieving efficient operation mode of combined heat and power generation. Cogeneration, which simultaneously produces electricity and heat energy, efficiently utilizes the waste heat generated by fuel during the power generation process to provide heating or water supply, greatly improving the comprehensive utilization rate of energy and reducing energy waste and environmental pollution.

High flexibility is another highlight of this project. With the rapid development of renewable energy sources such as wind power and photovoltaics, the demand for peak shaving and frequency regulation capabilities in the power grid is increasing day by day. The cogeneration unit of Huaneng Dezhou Power Plant is designed with flexible regulation capability, which can quickly respond to changes in grid demand, provide stable power support for the grid, and effectively balance the intermittent fluctuations of renewable energy, enhancing the safety and stability of the grid.
