On September 18, 2024, Luyang Town, Jingtai County, Gansu Province, ushered in a new development of a major energy project: the EPC general contracting results of its 100,000 kW wind power project were officially announced. After strict evaluation and fierce competition, China Construction Eighth Bureau No. 3 Construction Co., Ltd. stood out and successfully won the bid for the project, with a total contract amount of 519.4 million yuan, equivalent to a construction unit price of 5,194 yuan per kilowatt, which was carefully calculated based on the total bidding capacity of the project.

Located in the scenic Luyang town of Jingtai County, the project has a planned installed capacity of 100 MW and plans to install 13 high-performance wind turbines, each with a strong single capacity of 7.7 MW, indicating strong power generation potential. In addition, a new 110 kV booster station will be built to serve as a key facility for power conversion and transmission.

In order to ensure the stable transmission and efficient utilization of electric energy, each wind turbine will be equipped with a box-type substation with a capacity of 8,500 kVA, and a one-to-one unit wiring method is adopted, that is, each unit corresponds to a box transformer. The 1.14 thousand volt low-voltage electricity generated by the unit is boosted to 35 thousand volts by the box-type substation, and then connected to the 35 thousand volt bus system of the booster station through the well-designed four-circuit cable collector line to ensure the safety and efficiency of power transmission.

The project is also equipped with an energy storage system to cope with the instability of wind power generation. The rated power of the energy storage system is set at 10% of the total power of the power supply, that is, 10 MW, and has the ability of continuous energy storage for 2 hours, with a total installed capacity of 10 MW/20 MWh, providing valuable peak regulation and frequency regulation resources for the power grid.

In terms of power transmission, the project will build a 110 thousand volt transmission line about 35 kilometers long, which will reach the 330 thousand volt substation in Jingtai North to realize long-distance transmission of electric energy. However, the final access scheme still needs to be adjusted and optimized according to the access approval opinions of the power system.

The winning of the bid not only demonstrates the strong strength and rich experience of China Construction Eighth Bureau Third Construction Co., Ltd. in the field of wind power project construction, but also marks a solid step taken by Luyang Town, Jingtai County in promoting the development of clean energy and building a green energy system.Editor/Jiang Mingyue
