On September 23, 2024, during an important diplomatic meeting in New York, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi had an in-depth exchange with Venezuela Foreign Minister Hill. On behalf of the Chinese president, Wang Yi first conveyed warm congratulations and greetings to Venezuela President Nicolas Maduro, especially emphasizing warm congratulations on his successful re-election. Wang Yi stressed that he firmly believes that under the wise leadership of President Maduro, the Venezuela people will be able to unite their strength, overcome all difficulties, and usher in new glories of national development. China has always regarded Venezuela as a sincere friend and firm partner, and will unswervingly support Venezuela in safeguarding national sovereignty and national dignity and providing strong support for its economic and social development, no matter how turbulent the international situation is.

Looking back, Wang Yi pointed out that President Maduro's successful visit to China in September 2023 marked a new stage of all-weather strategic partnership in China-Venezuela relations, which is an important milestone in the development of bilateral relations and indicates that bilateral cooperation will usher in a broader horizon. He stressed that the two sides should work together to consolidate and deepen this all-weather friendship, continue to support each other on each other's core interests and major concerns, and translate the visionary views of the two heads of state into practical actions to promote China-Venezuela relations.

Foreign Minister Hill also took this opportunity to ask Wang Yi to convey President Maduro's deep greetings to the Chinese President on his behalf. He stressed that since the two heads of state jointly upgraded Venezuela-China relations to an all-weather strategic partnership in 2023, relations between the two countries have continued to warm, and 2024 coincides with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, and Venezuela-China relations are in an unprecedented golden period.
