Following negotiations between China Huadian Corporation and the First Vice President of Kazakhstan to build a $190 million, 160 MW gas turbine combined cycle power plant project in Mangystau Oblast, Kazakhstan (see $190 million! The First Vice Premier of Kazakhstan discussed power plant investment with the management of China Huadian Corporation), China Huadian Corporation has once again reached out and signed an agreement with Kazakhstan Eurasia Resources Group (ERG) and Kazakhstan Argestus Power Company to build a wind power plant.

China Huadian joins hands with ERG to promote the development of wind power in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan Eurasia Resources Group (ERG), China Huadian Corporation, and Kazakhstan Argestus Power Company recently signed an agreement to build a 200 MW wind power plant in Ekibastuz District, Pavlodar Oblast. The total investment of the project exceeds 80 billion tenge (approximately 156 million US dollars) and is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.

ERG stated that the wind farm will primarily meet the group's demand for renewable energy, significantly reducing the carbon footprint of its main products such as chromium and aluminum. This project is an important component of ERG's sustainable development strategy and is also in line with the goal of promoting clean energy policies by the government of Kazakhstan. As a major energy country in Central Asia, Kazakhstan is committed to the 2060 Carbon Neutrality Strategy, accelerating its green transformation by increasing the proportion of renewable energy and attracting international cooperation. ERG reviewed that the group's 150 MW wind power project in the Aktobe region has become an important case for the development of green industry.

The project reduces carbon dioxide emissions by 520000 tons annually and generates clean energy for ERG's mining and processing plants. The construction of a 200 MW wind farm will further promote ERG's clean energy expansion, not only meeting its own production needs, but also providing more clean options for regional energy supply. As a leading global energy enterprise, China Huadian Group's participation in providing technical and financial support for projects demonstrates the deepening of green energy cooperation between China and Kazakhstan in recent years.

At the same time, the participation of Argestus, a local enterprise in Kazakhstan, reflects the positive role of local forces in international cooperation. The completion of this project will become an important symbol of Kazakhstan's green transformation, contributing to the sustainable development of the regional economy and making positive contributions to the global green economy.(This article is from the official website of Jian Dao www.seetao.com.
