Greece and Canada officially signed the first Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on tourism cooperation on March 13 to boost the development of the tourism industries in both countries, strengthen institutional cooperation, and promote leisure travel.
The agreement was signed in Athens by Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni and Canadian Ambassador to Greece, Anna Asselin.
The agreement covers innovation, digitization, investment, education, vocational training, promotion within the tourism industry, as well as the exchange of data and information on new tourism products and services. In addition, the agreement will pay special attention to the application of climate action in the tourism sector.
With the recovery of international tourism, Greece and Canada plan to expand their aviation networks, increase the number of direct flights, and provide support to hotels and tourism enterprises to attract more tourists.
