On March 16th, a delegation led by the directors and the general manager of Electricite du Laos (EDL) paid a visit to Yunnan Energy Investment Group and had an exchange and discussion with Shen Jun, the Chief Financial Officer of the group. The two sides had an in-depth exchange on the development of businesses in the field of green energy, especially in the new energy sector. They unanimously agreed that a series of "small yet beautiful, refined and excellent" energy projects invested and constructed by the Energy Investment Group, such as the Xe Pian Xe Namnoy Hydropower Plant in Laos, the Ban Hat - Attapeu Transmission and Transformation Project, and the Seponphay Photovoltaic Project in Khammouane Province, have made great contributions to the economic and social development and the improvement of people's livelihood in Laos. These projects serve as a model for international energy cooperation between China and Laos and lay a solid foundation for further deepening the international energy cooperation between the two countries.

The two sides will continue to strengthen cooperation in the energy field, especially in the new energy sector. They will actively promote green energy projects such as the Vientiane Photovoltaic Project in Laos, the second phase of the Seponphay Photovoltaic Project in Khammouane Province, and the Xe Pian Xe Namnoy Hydropower and Photovoltaic Complementary Project, striving for the early commissioning and power generation of these projects, and further providing more green energy support for the regional development of Laos. During the period of opportunities brought by the vigorous construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and Yunnan's role as a "radiation center", the two sides will seize the cooperation opportunities.
