On March 31, 2026, the Yunnan Province Water Conservancy Investment Promotion Project Promotion Conference and the "Government Bank Enterprise" Cooperation Symposium were held in Kunming.

The conference introduced that Yunnan's water conservancy is facing unprecedented development opportunities, with four core advantages highlighted: unprecedentedly strong policy support, abundant and high-quality project reserves, and real and reliable project returns. The province has identified 217 high-quality projects in 5 major categories, with a total investment of 134.9 billion yuan, covering key areas such as water resource allocation, urban-rural water supply integration, modern irrigation area construction, water ecological governance, and new water related business models.

Multi party communication and discussion on water conservancy development

The conference invited Wu Qiang, Director of the Development Research Center of the Ministry of Water Resources, to give an analysis report on the current situation of water conservancy investment and financing, in depth analyzing the policy orientation, development trends, and practical paths of water conservancy investment and financing. Officials from the Water Resources Bureau of Qujing City, Yuxi City, Baoshan City, and Lincang City will promote key water conservancy investment projects. Representatives from four financial institutions, namely Agricultural Development Bank of China Yunnan Branch, Agricultural Bank of China Yunnan Branch, China Development Bank Headquarters, and China Development Bank Yunnan Branch, made exchange speeches on financial support for water conservancy construction, sharing successful practices and innovative models.

Representatives from four enterprises, namely Dayu Water Conservation Group Co., Ltd., Yunnan Water Resources and Hydropower Investment Co., Ltd., China South to North Water Diversion Group Water Network Co., Ltd., and China Railway Yunnan Construction Investment Co., Ltd., expressed their firm confidence in deeply cultivating the Yunnan water conservancy market and actively participating in major project construction. Financial institutions, enterprises, and state, county, city, and district water conservancy bureaus are conducting "government bank enterprise" negotiations to further deepen their connections.

Multiple collaborations were reached through on-site signing

During the conference, Yuxi City, Baoshan City, Lijiang City, and Lincang City signed "government bank" cooperation framework agreements with multiple banks, and multiple banks signed "bank enterprise" cooperation framework agreements with Yunnan Water Resources and Hydropower Investment Co., Ltd.
