The bidding results for the civil construction, mechanical and electrical installation, and metal structure installation of the Sanba Reservoir Project in Sichuan Province have been officially announced to the public. The project is divided into two sections, each won by a professional hydropower construction unit under the China Electric Power Construction Corporation. The first section was awarded to China Water Resources and Hydropower Fourth Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd. with a winning bid of 494 million yuan; The bid for Section II was won by China Water Resources and Hydropower Seventh Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd., with a bid price of 952 million yuan. The total bid amount for the two sections is approximately 1.446 billion yuan.

Sanba Reservoir is located in the middle reaches of the Jiang River in Dayi County, Chengdu City. The dam site is located in Xinchang Town and is an important water conservancy infrastructure in Chengdu. The project is a Class II large-scale water conservancy hub, with development tasks mainly focused on urban and rural water supply and flood control, while also taking into account comprehensive benefits such as irrigation and power generation. After completion, it will effectively enhance the regional water resources guarantee capacity.

This bidding includes two sections, with a total planned construction period of 1980 days, approximately 5 years and 4 months. Section I is mainly responsible for the construction of water supply, irrigation, power generation, and ecological related projects, including diversion tunnels, flood discharge tunnels, power plants, fish breeding stations, etc. Section II focuses on the main construction of the dam, including the construction of asphalt concrete core wall earth rock dam, spillway, and river protection.

The winning companies are all backbone enterprises of China Electric Power Construction Corporation. China Hydropower Fourth Bureau and China Hydropower Seventh Bureau have long been engaged in water conservancy and hydropower engineering construction, with rich experience in large-scale project construction, and will work together to promote reservoir construction. The second section adopts intelligent compaction technology for dams, which improves the quality of dam filling through digital monitoring and reflects the level of modern water conservancy construction.

The reservoir has comprehensive benefits of water supply, flood control, irrigation, and power generation

The Sanba Reservoir project has a large scale and high construction standards, with a normal water level of 691.00 meters and an average annual water supply of 187 million cubic meters. The installed capacity of the power station is 10.5 MW, and the average annual power generation is 35.41 million kilowatt hours. After the completion of the project, it can systematically solve the problem of insufficient water supply in urban and rural areas, while enhancing the regional flood control and storage capacity, and balancing agricultural irrigation and clean energy power generation. During the construction of the project, ecological facilities such as fish breeding stations and fish passage buildings are synchronously equipped to promote the construction of the project while also taking into account ecological environment protection, achieving the coordinated development of engineering benefits and ecological protection.
