Recently, SAL Logistics, a Saudi logistics service company, signed a cooperation agreement with Sela, a subsidiary of the Saudi Sovereign Wealth Fund (PIF), to jointly invest in and develop the SAL MRE logistics park in Falcon City, north of Riyadh. The project covers an area of over 1.5 million square meters and has a development cost of 4 billion Saudi riyals (approximately 1.1 billion US dollars). It will be equipped with high-quality warehouses, scalable storage solutions, and advanced operational infrastructure.
The logistics park will integrate advanced security systems, temperature controlled warehousing facilities, and efficient energy-saving solutions, aiming to enhance Saudi Arabia's logistics infrastructure and support its economic diversification strategy. At present, the specific construction schedule of the project has not been announced yet.
Saudi Logistics Services Company was established in 2019, specializing in cargo logistics services for Saudi airports. Its business covers 18 airports within the country and has expanded to regions such as the Middle East, Africa, Asia, South America, and the United States. Sela Company was established in 1997 and is currently wholly owned by PIF. Its business covers sports, entertainment, culture, and large-scale event management.
The Falcon City project is located in the Mahleham area of northern Riyadh, covering an area of approximately 14.4 million square meters. It is planned to be constructed as a large-scale integrated development project integrating logistics, commerce, exhibitions, aviation services, residential, hotel, entertainment, and retail. This project reflects the strategic intention of the Saudi government to promote economic diversification, industrial upgrading, and build a global logistics and cultural hub through PIF.
